Flowers From Australia Freebie

A Freebie for you!

What a jolly holidays we are having! A broken hot water tank, frozen cold water pipes, car heater not working... ah, well, thank the goddess we have our creative activities to keep us sane and loving life in spite of outward hardships!

Come the weekend and thanks to Colin's hard work, the frozen pipes are thawed and the car heater is fixed so I can go to work mornings, but the hot water tank is a no-go. Since we can't afford a new one to hook up to our propane gas tank, we'll just have to go without. It's not so bad, at least we have running, albeit only cold, water from the tap. brrrr! That's what 'homesteading' is all about anyway, isn't it?

I'm thinking of Australia's lovely warm Spring days right now, with a freebie for you: Four Flowers From Paradise as glittered edge images. Two hibiscus and two bougainvillea flowers in full, gorgeous bloom and two papers to go with them. A little Christmas/Holiday gift from me to you to enjoy - decorate your tropical or full-of-warm-wishes layouts with these lovelies and think of me when you are doing it. :) Send me warm thoughts!

Have fun!

A Bright Summer with Plants...I mean Plans

What is it about bright, showy colours that attracts us? Are we like butterflies and birds that zone in on nectar-rich food sources by seeking the brighter blossoms in the hopes that they will contain more sustenance than the boring, pale plants beside them?
Whatever the reason, my camera card is full of flower photos in tones of yellows, oranges and purples, and when I look at them, my heart does a little flip - and happiness ensues.

Bright Begonia after the rain. In my niece Rhonda's garden,
showing off for the wedding.

Congratulations to my two nieces, Rhonda and Kristine, who got married this Summer, and to Carol & Derrick, and Esther & Mike, on their 25th Wedding Anniversaries.

Celebrations abound in the Summer months, and well they should, as this is the time for everything to blossom out and 'show off' while the time is right. My Summer has been all work-work-work and I haven't had time to do much except try to keep up with the flow. This is not what I envisioned my first Summer back in New Brunswick to be, but I guess life has a way of choosing your schedule sometimes, does it not?

Middle of August and now I have a new job that I love, a job that is much less stressful on both my mental and physical states. It's nearby, a mere 11 minutes' drive away. Colin and I have our home all set up the way we want it now - oh, and it is fully functional! I have a room of my own in which to write, read, visit the internet, play with my crafts, and study herbs to my heart's content. Herbs have always been my 'first passion' where study and life interest were concerned, and no matter whatever else I did in my life, herbs were always there to rejoice my heart, boost my energy, and keep my health on the right track. Being in a place of my own, where climate, space and opportunity allow, I can finally fulfill my dream of growing a proper Herb and Perennial Garden. What colours and fragrances will those plants display!

This blog had originally been started for my digital design career, which came to a screeching halt in March, as many of you know, with the crash of my Cottage Scrapbooks site. I must say that I miss designing, but most of all, I miss being in touch with everyone who had made the Cottage their home and who had become real friends to me along the way. I will keep this blog open for the occasional scrap freebie that I may give away once in awhile, but it won't be an everyweek thing as it was before. I do intend on making my designs available again in the future and I will make that announcement right here when it does happen.

Fulfilling dreams has been my goal ever since I turned 25 many years ago, a life-changing time when I decided that acquiring happiness had to become my total responsibility, as I wasn't waiting around for anyone else to do it for me anymore. So I'm once again taking on the challenge that life has always presented me: To Follow Your Dreams, You Must Make Them Happen First!

In conjunction with amassing a great amount of hands-on knowledge on herbs, plants and gardening, I have always wanted to teach the wisdom of plants, their soul-healing powers, and all that goes with growing and using plants for pleasure and healing. This is now my Dream Mission. It's a big one, and much planning must precede the actual opening of our new, teaching and interactive site. More info will be posted as time goes by. This site will also have my Stellarific Creations available for purchase, for interested scrappers.

Wishing you bright blossoms in YOUR garden!

Starting work leaves little time

Spring has definitely come to the Maritimes, and we are selling plants at the Garden Centre! I'm in the Perennial section this year, so I'm having fun ooing and awing the lovely baby perennials coming in from the greenhouses in the back of the retail nursery. I'm going around with visions of garden beds in my head. My own, for a change. In my past life, I was a garden designer/plant scientist, so it seems that the role has been given to me again... and I enjoy it.

This little visit to my blog is overdue and I apologise for that. Thank you to all who've left me lovely comments and written to me, telling me they miss me at the site and in the forums, etc. I miss you all, too.

I might as well give you the rest of the story while I'm here, dear friends. Here are the rest of the Asperge Delight Papers and the Elements as well.

Asperge Delight Papers 2
Asperge Delight Papers 3
Asperge Delight Papers 4

Asperge Delight Elements 3
Asperge Delight Elements 4

In addition, here is a little gift for you from my last kit, Mysteria, see preview above. I cannot say when I'll be able to come back and post you some freebies, much less when I can fill the 'orders' some of you have given me in response to my call for suggestions, but ... you never know! It may be next week or next month, not sure. Thank you for all your suggestions, and I'll endeavour to fulfill your requests, but please be patient with me. :)

Last of April Showers

Before the month is over, I want to give you the last of April Showers, # 4, to complete your kit.

DOWNLOAD # 4 HERE

I have started working at a retail nursery this week and so I won't be as present on the net as I would like to be. However, I do want to give you all the rest of Asperge Delight, so come back soon for that.

Wishing you all a pretty Spring and, if you are in Australia, a productive Autumn.
Big hugs all around!

Chocolate, anyone?

Dear Friends ~
When Cottage Scrapbooks was still online, I had eight different challenges I created bonuses for every month. The above previews show four, and there are four more, of the April posting bonus collection. If you want them, here they are, all yours. I figure the Spring fever has hit me (I'm sick with a bug - bleeckk) and I might as well console myself by giving you all the posting bonuses. They're not doing anything sitting on my hard drive, and besides, you can do something with them - maybe use them for all your Easter and Spring photos. I hope you like chocolate, eggs, bunnies and little birdies!

Download # 1 - Admire the Flowers

Download # 2 - Chosen One Challenge

Download # 3 - Chronicle of Days

Download # 4 - Scrap This Season

Download # 5 - Heritage Challenge

Download # 6 - Hybrid Challenge

Download # 7 - Impromptu Challenge ('Kessa' won the "I Make You A Kit" Prize - Congratulations, Keryn! :) )

Download # 8 - Verse To Page

That's it for today's freebies. I hope you like them... Each zipped file contains 3 papers and 3 elements for your scrapping pleasure.
I'll be giving you the rest of Asperge Delight and April Showers soon. And then?

Why don't you tell me what you'd like me to create for you? I've sort of hit a blank wall as far as creating kits is concerned right now, so if you want some goodies, tell me what it is you'd like me to make for you.

Theme, colours, special elements, whatever pops into your head. Let me know and I'll see what I can do.
Until next time!
Don't eat too much chocolate! lol
